Board Community Rules
Last updated: 25 September 2026
The board is where you tell us what to build and what is broken. These rules form part of our Terms of Service. By posting, commenting or voting, you agree to them.
Who can post
You must be at least 16 in the EEA and the UK, and at least 13 elsewhere. You post under a handle you choose. Your handle is public; your account is not.
Everything is reviewed before it appears
Posts and comments are held for review and appear publicly only once approved. Review is done by us, usually within a day. We may approve, reject, or hide content, and we may edit nothing — content is published as written or not at all.
What is not allowed
- Personal information about anyone else — a seller’s name, phone number, email, address, plate number, VIN, or a screenshot showing any of them
- Harassment, threats, or abuse of any person, including other users and us
- Hate speech or attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation
- Accusations that a named or identifiable person is a scammer, fraudster or criminal. Describe what happened without naming the person
- Sexual content, violent or graphic content
- Illegal content, or content encouraging illegal acts, including odometer tampering, rebirthing, or falsifying documents
- Spam, advertising, referral links, or vehicle listings. The board is for feedback on the app, not for selling
- Impersonation of another person, a business, or us
- Content that is not yours to post, including copyrighted material
- Deliberate misinformation about the app, or manufactured claims about a score
- Attempts to game the board — duplicate accounts, coordinated voting, or repeated reposting
Reporting and blocking
Every post and comment can be reported. Reports come to us and we act on them, typically within 24 hours. Reported content that breaches these rules is removed.
You can block another user. Blocking hides their posts and comments from you and prevents them from interacting with your content.
If you see content that you believe is illegal, report it and email support@usescrutineer.com so we can act quickly.
What happens when rules are broken
Depending on what happened, we may:
- Reject the post or comment before it is published
- Hide or remove published content
- Restrict your ability to post for a period
- Ban your account from the board permanently
Serious breaches — content involving a minor, credible threats, or anything unlawful — result in an immediate ban, and we will report the matter to the relevant authorities where we are required or think it right to do so.
Appeals
If you think a decision was wrong, email support@usescrutineer.com with your handle and what was removed. We will look again and reply. We keep moderation records so that appeals can be reviewed properly, including after an account is deleted.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant us a licence to display it in the app and to quote it when we explain what we are building. If you delete your content or your account, it stops being displayed; moderation records may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
Ideas posted on the board may be built. Posting an idea does not create an obligation for us to build it, to credit you, or to pay for it, and does not give you any claim over the feature if we do build it.
Rate limits
Posting, commenting, voting and reporting are rate limited, and the board has a daily ceiling overall. This is to keep it usable and to control abuse, not to silence anyone.
We may pause the board
We may turn off posting temporarily, for example during an outage or a spam wave. Your existing content stays where it is.
